			<description><![CDATA[ <p>Can anyone who served on the Arctic Convoy (JW56-JW67) from Liverpool to Murmansk (July 1944-May 1945) remember Surgeon Lieutenant Ian Goodson-Wickes, RNVR?

 He served in RMS EXE (frigate), HMS BIDEFORD (sloop) and Corvettes. In the abscence of Adequate war office records I wish to establish his entitlement to the
Arctic Emblem.</p>

			<description><![CDATA[ I have seen a few people ask about obtaining crew lists.

A very good way of getting a list of officers is by looking in the Navy Lists. These are held at various locations including NMM Greenwich.
<br>

The lists were completed every few months (I can&#39;t recall how many times a year) and list every ship and its officers. By simply reading the years that you
are after (Obviously most go for the war years) you can get a complete list of officers and the transfers on/off your ship! ]]></description>

			<description><![CDATA[ My Dad served on a Flower Class corvette in WWII (I believe it was the Lotus).  He has just been diagnosed with mesothelioma - a cancer caused by exposure to asbestos.  Due to the corvettes' pipes being lagged with asbestos and the dreadful conditions in which the crew lived, he believes his illness is a result of his service.<br><br>I'm sure he's not the only one - many other men must have died of mesothelioma, asbestosis and lung cancer in the years since the war.<br><br>Does anyone have... ]]></description>
