Hello - this is my first post to this forum, I was hoping someone might be able to help with my research into Royal Navy commanding officers from WW2. I'm
confident I know most of the Flower Class CO's, but there are one or two gaps in the Navy List which are causing me problems. To summarise:

HMS Abelia. When did Lt R A Parker RNVR, her last CO, relieve Lt D S Hutton RNR? This would be between 7/44-5/45.

HMS Buttercup. When did Lt W A M J Libert RNR, her las CO before transfer...

I cannot connect the webside you mentioned, so I cannot see who is responsible for the site. But I think it is the regular naval gossip.

It seems then that Nicholas Monsarratt would not have had first hand knowledge of Friso, as he was away from the Atlantic between late 1941 and late 1943, and
there is no record of his later ships HMS Ettrick or HMS Perim serving in the same waters. But it may have been a second-hand story and I'd like to think
it was, as Dutch corvettes weren't that common. Returning to my original problem - the website <a target="_blank"...

Mid June she shifted to the 37th EG on the Freetown route, made there two trips.

On 23 December 1941 the Corvette HMS Heartsease collided with the port bow of the newly commissioned Hunt class destroyer HMS Tetcott. LtCdr J. A. Baragwanath,
the commanding officer of the HMS Heartsease, was found at fault in the accident. It would seem that his relief of command and the appointment of Lt G. C.
Meldrum RNR took place in the last week of 1941.

The HMS Heartsease had to be towed to port for repair and would never again escort a convoy under...
