I have to agree to a certain extent as they do have access to a huge amount of material provided by the veterans and rarely put any of it on their website. The FCCA and its members did, however, participate in the provision of archived veteran interviews which were published in the Royal Naval Museum Book of the Battle of the Atlantic: The Corvettes and their Crews: An Oral History by Chris Howard Bailey and this was a major undertaking which should not be overlooked by corvette researchers. Many interviews not included in the book are available to listen to at the Royal Naval Museum. It would be useful if, at some point, the FCCA could make their occasional publication, the "Corvette Cracker" available as a digital download, although they haven't produced one for quite a few years now.

To be fair the FCCA is largely geared to looking after the surviving veterans and making sure they have a means of communication and annual reunion. The FCCA is not really a research driven organisation and they do not maintain an archive of corvette related material in a central depository although there are scattered small collections of material amongst members of the FCCA.

This website was set up largely to address the lack of freely available data on the Flower Class Corvettes and their crews and make that information available at no cost to family history and naval researchers.
