In the event of it not being there, cant find it, or not available at the current time! my only insight to the condition and circumstance of these survivours would be anything I am able to gleen from the ship that picked them up, well thats my logic anyway. My Grand father was 1st mate of the Stork and went down with the ship, well as far as I know. I have been trying to research the history of this ship and some of the crew. I suspect that these survivors were quite badly injured but the Wallflower may be the only way of ever knowing any details. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I assume that RN ships had logbooks similar to that of the Merchant Navy, would these hold any info?
Incidentally the survivors are often listed as one crew and two DEMs gunners, this is not correct, they were all merchant seamen but two did have DEMS training.
Thanks, Amanda
