Matchbox 1/72 HMCS Snowberry intsruction in pdf.? |

I have a couple of the new Revell HMCS Snowberry kits which I am about to start. The kit includes all the parts to build USS Saucy and the HMS Bluebell but
doesn't include the instructions to build the Bluebell. I was wondering if anyone had the older Matchbox instructions (which do have the
instructions for the Bluebell) in a pdf. fromat? Or a soft copy they wouldn't mind photocoping for me?

There is a reference to the Bluebell build in another site. http://cs.finescale.com/forums/573236/ShowPost.aspx Note that the parts that are shaded in black in
the Revell Germany instructions are the parts used for the Bluebell.

I found that link and made a copy of it. I have also looked closely at the Bluebell pictures and with my previous modelling experience I am sure I will be able
to figure it out. I guess I was hoping for the easy option..

Just a thought but you might want to post a request on the other two web site for a copy of the Matchbox instructions. It has been years but someone may have a copy that they are willing to share. |

Hi Ian, I am in south west England, photocopying the main parts of the instructions would be about £4 unless you want the painting guide in colour which will
be an extra £3.20p
plus an A4 envolope plus postage so Im guessing £7=£10. Are you building your corvette at the moment? maybe if your stuck on anypart I can try to photograph the instuctions and send it to you as an e-mail attachment. regards Les |

At the moment I am awaiting a package from DJParkins, with the first batch of parts, so the only thing happening at the moment is the hull parts are
assembeled, and the joints filled and smothed out.
I am now wondering if the 'eyebrows' over the scuttles should go. All the photos I have seen I cant see the gutters over any of the scuttles. Hopefully the instructions from DJP will have a bit of advise on that point. If I have any problems with figuring out the blue bell bits, I'll give you a shout. Still not 100% decided on which ship she will be. Might go Bluebell 1945 or Poppy as the simple rute, or maybe Burdock (the yellow one)! HMS Borage is an other maybe. |

There is no easy answer to the "eyebrow" question. Photo evidence is that some vessels had them and some did not while it is impossible to determine
in other cases. The only thing one can do is to look at the photos (if any) of the vessel and make a determination. Also, note that the number and arrangement
of scuttles varies from one vessel to another.

Hmmmmm!
well just that little snippet of info does rather alter the choices a bit. Either keep to a ship that has the same scuttle layout/number, or start plugging the holes and cutting new ones!!! Looks like I got a lot of reading to do yet! :-) |

Hi Ianm good luck with your aftermarket parts I have used some of these sets and found them to be very detailed but fiddly to assemble at least with my
eyesight! I have used the eyebrow and scuttle set but gave up on the scuttles and just used the eyebrows there very much more in scale than the moulded on
ones. As hjh43 says check your references for the corvette your building.
